"Dream of the Mountain" is a spacious, tastefully designed and decorated home on 5.6 waterfront acres
on Kootenay Lake, in the south east corner of British Columbia, Canada.
This very private and unique setting on it's own acreage of forested bluff results in amazing viewscapes
both to the Purcell Mountain range to the east and the length of Kootenay Lake to the south.

Our home is located near the village of Kaslo, towards the upper end of 100 mile long Kootenay Lake.
The Purcell Mountains dominate the view to the east, with 9000 ft Mount Loki in direct view from our living room window.
Looking south, you see the full lenght of the lake.
The house itself sits on a bluff of 5.6 forested private acres, 100 ft above the water.
It is a two storey, 3000 sq ft cedar home with lots of light and space.
The main floor has a hall, study, den, living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom with outside shower. A cozy wood burning fireplace sits between the living and dining areas.
The kitchen connects via the laundry room to the enclosed 2 car garage.
All the rooms are distinct yet flow into each other, creating a spacious but cozy ambiance.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with shower and cast iron tub, with an adjoining bedroom, both with magnificent views of Kootenay Lake and the mountain ranges.
In addition there is another set of bedrooms upstairs.
There is a deck on the south and east side of the house, a great place to watch the sunrise as well as the moon rise, over Mount Loki.
There also is a deck between the house and the studio.

Each of the rooms in the house has two or three windows that look out on lake and/or mountain. From the north facing windows you look into our own forest.
Even in this amazing province of British Columbia, Canada, there are not many homes for sale that have the privacy and spectacular setting of "Dream of the Mountain".

From the pebble beach below us you can swim, fish, kayak. We leave our canoe and kayak there all year around

Because our home is on a peninsula, at the end of a cul-de-sac, we do not hear the traffic noise that most waterfront homes in the Kootenays have to put up with.

Within a range of 30 km you can choose from any kind of adventure: hike to Alpine meadows, walk thru a river canyon, go for a hot springs bath, watch grizzly bears feed...

On a rocky ledge below the house is the studio, a 300 sq ft cabin that is a wonderfully romantic place of seclusion. You sit right above the lake, with magnificent views of the water and the mountains.
